International company NIKE, a global leader in sports equipment, announced that Monica Gil and Bob Swan have been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors.

Gil is Managing and Marketing Director of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises and Swan is Operating Partner of Andreessen Horowitz and former CEO of Intel Corporation.

“Monica and Bob’s combined leadership in business operations, innovation, marketing, branding and media makes them excellent additions to our board,” said Mark Parker, CEO of NIKE, Inc. “We are excited to bring their experience to the table. “ and prospects as we continue to accelerate our strategy to create value through relentless commitment to the future of sport.”

At NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, Gil is at the forefront of emerging technology and changing consumer behavior, leading the company’s multinational branding, digital marketing and creative endeavors.

Gil is a leader in consumer and media trends and has led numerous marketing and branding campaigns across Telemundo’s broadcast, cable and digital properties, including Telemundo’s broadcast of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which enjoyed record audience ratings across all platforms.

Prior to Telemundo, Gil held various leadership positions at Nielsen. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from the University of Southern California School of Public Administration. She is also a board member of the National Museum of Women’s History and Welcome Tech, Inc.

Bob Swan

Swan is an operational partner in the growth investment team at Andreessen Horowitz – known as “a16z” – where he advises growth-stage portfolio companies on how to grow their businesses.

Prior to joining the company, he was CEO of Intel, where he oversaw 110,000 employees, generated revenue of $78 billion and grew approximately $25 billion in annual revenue during his tenure as CEO and CFO.

Swan has also been an operating partner at General Atlantic, CFO of various companies including eBay and Electronic Data Systems, and TRW, COO and CEO of Webvan.

Swan earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University at Buffalo and a NIKE, IncMBA from Binghamton University. He is a board member of eBay, GoTo and Flexport.
